On December the 21st we posted an advertisement on our myspace site, calling for artists to submit a track for this Christmas release. This is what it said: “Hohoho! Christmas is coming. And don't we hate it. Well, we at Okkulth do. So we want to release a compilation called 'Darkmass 2008'. Hopefully it will be an anual thing. Rules: only dark ambient and/or drone, composed especially for this comp, deadline: Dec.24. So you have to express your hate for Christmas in a subdued manner. And you...

Two hypnotizing acts from the Netherlands have teamed up here. Kristus Kut comes up with two originals, Zieltogend has remixed these. The Kristus Kut tracks were made during a spiritual journey at the Rebel Headquarters. One enters a audiosonic tunnel and floats on the waves of sound to the light at the end. The arrival will be experienced as a rebirth. One will loose the weight of his troubles. They dissolve in the waves of sound. Just sit down. Just experience. Dim the light. Close your eyes....

Tromhet started in 2004, with the intention of creating music that can be described as cold and dark, an atmosphere of darkness, solitude and desolate landscapes. Influences are heralded from many different genres of sounds, but the key word remains: dark. On this release, the songs reflect Tromhet’s personal inner struggles, despair, suicide and then the path back to hell, to create anguish in the minds of unsuspected listeners. All instruments by R. Stein. Recorded January-February 2008....

Fresh from their superb split ‘The Harrowing Of Irem’ with Nimheil on Svartgalgh Records, here Ctephin is again with some truly captivating new material! Ctephin is a found-sound/ambient/noise group from Oklahoma. They were formed in 2003 by the core family group of StF, Aedria and Kaylan Bright. Their music is influenced by the sounds of their surroundings and the pure amount of energy that their core puts out. Kristus Kut is a harsh trance project from the lowlands. The mad voodoo priest LSB is responsible for the deep and hypnotizing soundscapes. Presented here are probably two of his darkest tracks ever, composed especially for Okkulth Records. This release brings you two long tracks made during an emotional ritual cleansing. Emotions were drained from LSB's soul and thus created these two haunting tracks. The first caught the rememberance of fine times that have been and never come back. The...

We can’t disclose much information unfortunately, as Okli Projekt wish to remain anonymous. (Remember The Residents?) Okli Projekt’s first outing was with their Blft track on the first Okkulth Magick sampler and they follow suit here with a proper release, consisting of three mysterious ambient numbers. These were created trans-atlantically. It is said that they aren’t from...

With pride, Okkulth announces its second Turmoil release! Tom is a great friend of ours and here, he honours the true spirit of this label. Psychedelic drone from Mexico: here is (((o)))! The name is something of a give-away: expect raw Sunn O))) type drone sounds. Not as repetetive perhaps, but definitely as heavy! Complete with spooky piano-tinged intro and outro, this will send your speakers flying for the hills and cover your soul in dank darkness. This release was previously available from the (((o))) myspace, but has now found its way to Okkulth. With good reason we like to think! “Psicodelic drone experimental”

This is the first and hopefully not the last Turmoil release on Okkulth. Tom has created this track especially for us, thereby successfully capturing the vein of the label. This is his story. In 1888, three Qabalists, Freemasons, and Rosicrucians founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, to carry out the work that was abandoned by the Theosophical Society. These founders of the Golden Dawn intended that the Order should serve as the guardian of the Western Esoteric Tradition - keeping its...

Part 1 in the Morr series is here! This is an ongoing project: Norss is remixing, compiling and deforming tracks of a certain artist and offers his remix to someone close to him. In this case Zieltogend. In fact, this constitutes the latter’s first release! The mood is dark, as you would expect with Norss. Zieltogend is operating in the most minimal genre of minimal ambient and drone. Or otherwise, as he likes to say: Zieltogend equals emptiness. Very true. “EsoundnotrackMix”

When we started this net label, it was deemed obvious that one of the first releases would be by Norss. After all, this label is an offspin of his own label, Norss Platen. Considering this, the title of the release is totally unfitting: Dood is the Dutch word for Death… And Norss (nor his label) is by no means dead at all! ”This is the sound of you in a coffin. The soundworks of Mark Bradley are deceptive. At first, they seem quite smooth and light, but on closer listening the songs reveal a subtle but commanding depth. Mark is a solo performer, portraying emotional states of being through his audio. It’s no coincidence that the title of this work is Solace. Once you immerse yourself in this claustrophobic ambient world, you become oblivious to your surroundings. This triptych is high level deep listening. “Moonlight ambient”

It was this release that caught our ears and made us realize that GAAD should not go on without a catalogue number starting with Okk. And thus, we are pleased to announce Buried Reminiscence! The mood is dark, the style is largely dark ambient. However, be mindful of your ears when November comes up... “Dark ambient /...

The music of Zieltogend might be still, but [empty] himself never sits as such. Another project has sprang from his minimal mind. Turmoil is the ‘victim’ here. With kind permission of Tom, Zieltogend has taken on ‘Last Rites Of Amduscias’ for this release. The original release can be downloaded at: www.archive.org/details/AMR079. How does he do it? Simple. The first track is a remix of the original material, with the characteristic Zieltogend stamp: minimal, empty, inner-core, droning,...

Prodvkt from the beautiful city of Firenze first grabbed our attention with the fabulous Smell The Stench net release Obsession. After hearing this, we made contact with Italy immediately, and Prodvkt did not hesitate at all. This is the result: almost 80 minutes of minimal ambient drone with some minor touches of white noise. It’s is a deadly experience, inspired by the activity of Rev. Jim Jones. Three long tracks of pure Prodvkt style with real samples of JJ’s voice. “Obscene music in...

Our good friend Shaun has come up with something special here! And we are fortunate to present you the first and the final part... This series is inspired by Dante Alighieri's masterpiece Inferno. It’s is a story in which the protagonist, Dante, is able to travel through the depths of hell to observe the punishment received by all those who fail to accept the word of god. This is the first and the last in a series of alternative mixes of the same song. Circles 2-8 will be released on various...

Wolfsduister is back! With a vengeance we might add. This is the third part of his Satanisch project and it will grab you by the throat, like you’ve not been grabbed by Erghal before. The overall sound is harsh, noisy even, beckoning all of you deep into the Wolfsduister Cult. Once again, Erghal proves to be able to tap the various veins of experimental music with remarkable ease. “Part III of the Satanisch releases offers the most occult part of the Luciferian Worshipping. After having...

In the past, both these artists have released work together, thereby also collaborating on a few tracks. Prime examples are the Norss Platen and Schaduw releases Nachtelijk Verbond and Nachtprofeten. However, both felt this was not enough. Hence Zielloze Verbintenis. Wolfsduister and Norss have again chosen to team up for a release, this time in a different shade of darkness. Both artists agreed on the concept of creating a track that is build up entirely of various works from the other,...

Some short but sweetly fascinating dark ambient/drone pieces are presented here. The first batch of lost tracks by Alalu from Dallas, TX. Immerse yourself, it’s fascinating! All tracks written and composed by Petty during blunt induced recording sessions. Nebulous stoner drones inspired by the lost book of Enki: Memoires And Prophecies Of An Extraterrestial God.

Halfway June 2008, one of the best noise artists from the Netherlands disappeared without a trace: Stirner. To this day, we have no idea what happened to him. Norss contacted us about this. It had been playing on his mind for quite some time and he came up with the idea of honouring Tony’s work in the form of remixes. Neither an obituary, nor a nocturne, but a celebration of Stirner’s work. Hoping that he will hear this at some point. Because Norss and Okkulth Records are positive that...

After Dood and Eindeloos, here is the final part in the unconfirmed trilogy. Norss has done some field recordings for this one, and uncharacteristically, didn’t use any additional samples. This is darker than black, more grim than the reaper. Just when you thought nothing goes on during a cold, bleak November night. By the way: Norss is an enormous Coil addict… ”Eindeloos (Endless) was the prologue, Dood (Death) the middle part and this is Zwart (Black): the epilogue. The sounds of the...

Zieltogend has an enduring fascination for the work of Mystified. He feels they are kindred spirits. Therefore, [empty] contacted Thomas about this new project: remixing Mystified material the Zieltogend way. Thomas readily gave the go-ahead. And Okkulth Records took it upon them to release the results. This is the first part. The method of action is quite simple. Zieltogend creates a remix of selected Mystified material from Treetrunk net releases only. This becomes the first side of the tape....

Zieltogend is from the Netherlands. That’s about all we can tell about him, for he wants to keep his identity a secret. The intention of Zieltogend is to create very minimal soundscapes. Droning, ambientesque, or whatever lies in between. Empty is the code-word. The Zieltogend method is simple: remix a track down to its bare-boned, minimal necessity. For this release, he deformed a track by Mystified: Earth from the Treetrunk release Audio Paintings. It’s presented here in two parts....

It was inevitable: Zieltogend and Wolfsduister have teamed up again. Both claim to be influenced by each other, so it was only a matter of time before these two Dutchmen joined forces once more. Zieltogend’s method of action is to remix someone else’s material down to its essential, hypnotic core. And this is exactly what [empty] did: he transformed the Wolfsduister song ‘6’ (from ‘Satanisch Pt.I’) into something possibly more creepy than the original ritual. Erghal on the other...

Invisible Waves aka. Olli Tanskanen is a one man ambient/noise project from Finland. He uses his computer to create dark and noisy soundscapes and is constantly trying to improve his sound in different ways. In the future, you may experience IW doing something entirely different. Who knows? What’s for sure is that IW is always trying to create something experimental and dark. As evidenced by this release.

It was Thomas Park who suggested us to start a net label. After some consideration (well, hardly any), we decided to go through with it! So it was only fitting that Mystified would provide the first release on Okkulth. And fortunately, there was no hesitation! So we present you a truly enthralling collection of tracks here! ”Spinning Decline is an eclectic mix of pieces, mostly drone in nature. Moods tend to be dark and melancholy here. Several pieces closely mimic the sound of old vinyl...
